PLoS、SPARC、Students for FreeCultureの呼びかけにより、2009年10月19〜23日に開催される催し“Open Access Week”の日本語版サイトが、My Open Archiveにより立ち上がっています。オープンアクセス週間のイベントやオープンアクセスに関するニュースの紹介などが行われています。

2009年の”Open Access Week”が、SPARC、PLoS、Students for FreeCultureと、新しく加わったOASIS (the Open Access Scholarly Information Sourcebook)、Open Access Directory (OAD)、eIFL.net (Electronic Information for Libraries)により、10月19日から23日に開催されることになり、日本においても”Open Access Week（オープンアクセス週間）”についてより多くの情報をオープンにして共有できるように、ということで日本語版サイトが開設された。
運営はMy Open Archiveが行っているとのこと。

• Web Portal “Current Awareness Portal” by National Diet Library

Japanese “Open Access Week” site hosted by My Open Archive is launched. It distributes information about events during the “Open Access Week” and news related to open access. PLoS(Public Library of Science), SPARC(Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition) and Students for FreeCulture called for “Open Access Week” during October 19 to 23, 2009.
